Metro will locate and identify underground utilities along Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor alignment

A Metro contractor will conduct probing activities to help locate and identify underground utilities along the planned alignment as a part of preliminary engineering for the future Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor light rail project.

Input wanted: Public invited to attend early scoping meeting for restoration of historic streetcar service in downtown Los Angeles

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority Metro will hold an early scoping meeting May 17 for public input for an Alternatives Analysis study of the Restoration of Historic Streetcar Service project in downtown Los Angeles. Metro is preparing the environmental studies at the request of the City of Los Angeles.

Metro Board Approves Removal of Peak-Hour Restrictions for Bikes on Rail

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Board of Directors today approved a staff recommendation to remove peak-hour restrictions for bicycles on the Metro Rail system and authorized the removal of seats on light rail vehicles to better accommodate bicycles and other large items, moves that will help make bicycles a more viable alternative mode of transportation throughout L.A. County.

Revised environmental review for Wilshire bus lanes and transit improvements project released for public review, comments

The Revised Final Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Assessment (FEIR/EA) for the Wilshire Bus Rapid Transit Project was released today by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). The document is available for a 30-day public review online at www.metro.net/wilshire and at public libraries in the study area.

L.A. Metro to hold station area advisory meetings for Westside Subway Extension project April 26 through May 2

Metro and Caltrans announce public meetings for the proposed 63-mile High Desert Corridor

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) are hosting four community meetings in April for the High Desert Corridor (HDC) project. Metro to begin train testing on new Expo Light Rail Line

The public is urged to watch for trains and be safe as Metro begins testing a train car Monday moring (April 4) along a portion of the new Expo light rail line. The Expo Line is nearing completion of construction between downtown Los Angeles and Culver City and will run primarily along Exposition Boulevard. The initial testing will be from 23rd Street Station near the University of Southern California (USC). An empty Metro Rail train car will be pulled by a high rail vehicle. The procedure will include clearance and overhead testing.
