U.S. Department of Transportation to Award Metro $2 Million for Van Nuys Corridor Project and Transit Forecasting Model

In a move that marks new progress for the region's aggressive Measure R agenda and 30/10 Initiative, The U.S. Department of Transportation has selected the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) to receive a $2 million grant to perform an analysis of transit alternatives for the Van Nuys corridor in the San Fernando Valley and for support work for other Measure R transit projects.

Metro customer survey shows majority of riders are satisfied with Metro bus and rail service

A recently conducted survey of more than 17,500 Metro riders shows that 86 percent of those polled indicated that they either agree or strongly agree that they are satisfied with Metro bus and rail service compared to 14 percent who disagree, and 79 percent believed that the Metro bus/rail system is better today than a year ago.

Metro Blue Line Service to Be Delayed Due To Maintenance Work on Anaheim Street in Long Beach Beginning September 17

Metro Blue Line passengers may experience service delays up to 30 minutes this coming weekend beginning Friday night, September 17, due to rail-track maintenance work on Long Beach Boulevard at Anaheim Street in Long Beach. Metro Focuses on Safety during Crackdown on Traffic Violators on Metro Blue Line Street Running Segment in Downtown Los Angeles

Soil Stability Testing Between Getty Center Drive and Skirball Center Drive Planned Beginning March 22

As part of the pre-construction activities for the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project, the contractor will conduct a soil stability test near the Getty View Trailhead running along the northbound I-405 freeway between Getty Center Drive and Skirball Center Drive. This work activity is being conducted to survey and monitor the stability of the soil for the future construction of a retaining wall along the I-405 freeway. Metro To Provide Special Express Bus Service from Union Station to Dodger Stadium during Pre-game and Regular Season 2010 Dodgers Games

Metro will offer Dodger Stadium Express bus service from Union Station in downtown Los Angeles to Dodger Stadium beginning April 1 with the Dodgers pre-game series and throughout the regular 2010 baseball season under a grant from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) grant of $300,000 awarded to Metro by the MSRC was made in support of clean fuel transit service to link Union Station to Dodger Stadium. The MSRC awards funding within the South Coast Air Basin from a portion of the vehicle registration fee set aside for mobile source projects that result in emission reductions.

Metro Board Approves 21 Contracts with Tow Truck Operators to Boost Metro Freeway Service Patrol Service

I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project Construction Work Resumes 5 p.m. Jan. 27, 2010

The I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project will add a 10-mile northbound carpool lane on the San Diego Freeway (I-405) from the Santa Monica Freeway (I-10) to the Ventura Freeway (US 101), and will realign selected ramps, improve bridge structures, and erect sound walls. Anticipated project completion is Spring 2013.  In preparation for construction, the contractor will temporarily delineate traffic lanes.
