Bicycling is a great way to travel around a neighborhood, especially with new bicycle lanes and paths appearing all across Los Angeles County. Bike with us at our Bike Week events, and see how easy it can be! Click on the tabs for more event information.
Pledge here to ride your bike on Bike to Work Day and you could win a new folding bike from REI and other great prizes!
Join us with your bicycle at Grand Park on Monday, May 13 at 10 a.m. for our Bike Week media event. We’ll be kicking off Bike Week with local partners, including Caltrans, C.I.C.L.E., Good Samaritan Hospital, LADOT, the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, and Metrolink.
Metro encourages everyone to consider participating in National Bike Month and local Bike Week activities. Bike Month and Bike Week events are volunteer-organized events and activities, and although Metro supports these activities, it does not directly provide financial support or security for Bike Month or Bike Week activities, nor does Metro assume any responsibility for the events and activities listed herein.
Get ready for Bike Week by tuning up your bicycle! There are plenty of bicycle co-ops and shops around Los Angeles County where you can fix up a bike or even build your own.
After you get your bicycle in tip-top shape, join us at Good Samaritan Hospital’s 10th Annual Blessing of the Bicycles on Tuesday, May 14. There will be sweet treats to celebrate this year’s recipient of the Golden Spoke Award, an honor given every year to someone who has improved bicycling safety in Los Angeles.

Bicyclists are great for local business. Research shows that people traveling on bicycles spend more money at and make more visits to small establishments than people traveling in cars. Because bicyclists travel at slower speeds, it’s easier for them to stop and smell the coffee! (They also don’t have to pay for parking).
If you would like to offer a promotion to bicyclists during Bike Local weekend, please sign your business up here and Metro will spread the word!
Bike to these great destinations during Bike Local Weekend and mention “Bike Week” for a fun discount!
